Doug Gottlieb is wondering why the NBA is still calling technical fouls just because some referees have rabbit ears as he addresses the second technical foul called on Lakers superstar Luka Dončić last night and his subsequent ejection from their loss to the Western Conference leading Oklahoma City Thunder. News Anchor Dan Beyer is much less forgiving of Luka's antics considering he'd already received one technical foul and is well aware that NBA officials can be sensitive.
Doug Gottlieb: "I don't know why we're calling technical fouls in the NBA. This is not NJB (National Junior Basketball). This is not youth basketball."
Dan Beyer: "It's not like it's new that NBA officials may be sensitive. And so, if you're Luka in that scenario, if you don't get the first one you can mouth off to the fans; guess what, then you only get your one there. But, just absolving him of any blame is foolish."
