Miami Dolphins Owner Reportedly Wants to Acquire LSU Quarterback Joe Burrow

Mike Florio: “I like it when guy’s take a stand and say ‘I DON’T WANT TO PLAY FOR THE TEAM WHO HAS THE FIRST PICK'…Take this to the bank: Stephen Ross, the owner of the Dolphins, wants Joe Burrow, and I assume that has gotten back to Joe Burrow. So, Miami and the Dolphins, and Cincinnati and the Bengals, if there’s a way you can work it that you get [Burrow] to Miami, maybe that’s the better choice… Let’s be fair about this, if you got to choose between Cincinnati and pretty much any other team right now, sorry Bengals, but I’m picking the OTHER team." Listen to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio discuss with Dan Patrick the possibility of LSU Heisman trophy winner Joe Burrow refusing to sign with the Cincinnati Bengals, who will have the number one pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Florio has been a long-time critic of the NFL Draft, saying he believes college players shouldn’t be forced to play for a bad franchise, and says in the business world, there’s a free market for the most talented people in their craft to be able to choose what company they desire to work for.

Florio was alluding to comments that former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer made that may have been a warning to Burrow. Palmer recently said that he never felt like the team was ‘trying to win a Super Bowl’, and said they refused to spend big money in free agency.

Former Bengals wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh is helping train with Burrow in the lead up to the Draft, and while he said he would never say anything negative about the Bengals to Burrow, and said the Bengals should indeed draft him at number one, he also peculiarly added that that the Bengals should be open to trade the pick if someone offers a handful of first round draft picks.

Florio told The Dan Patrick Show that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross ‘wants Burrow’, and says he believes that fact has gotten back to Burrow’s camp recently.

Check out the interview above as Florio details why we could potentially be moving towards a blockbuster Draft day trade between the Bengals and Dolphins.
