Purdue is wearing special edition "moon helmets" for Saturday's game against Maryland. Most rational people think this is a cool idea - Purdue is very proud of their space program, which has produced the first and most recent humans to walk on the moon - and the university is embracing the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.
Well, not everyone is happy about it...
A few UCF fans took offense with Purdue's moon helmet design, alleging that it's too similar from UCF's moon helmets from the 2017 season.
Come on, man.
UCF apparently has a terrific space program. That's great! Purdue has produced more astronauts than any non-service academy. That's also great! If they both teams want to wear moon helmets, who cares? This doesn't have to be a fight.
