Will Vinatieri Retire Today?

After another disastrous performance, we may have seen Adam Vinatieri's last game. The legendary kicker, who is a Hall of Fame lock, missed two more extra points yesterday - making it four missed PATs in his last three games - in Indy's narrow 19-17 win over the Titans.

Vinatieri told reporters in Nashville that he'd speak today, and we're assuming some sort of a resolution is coming. Retirement? IR? Vote of confidence? Something.

The start to this season continued a troubling late-season trend from 2018. In his last five games, Vinatieri has missed seven kicks inside of 35 yards, which is unheard of for him and automatic cut territory for kickers who don't have his established track record.

No one is rooting for it to end this way, but if the 46-year old won't walk away on his own terms, it doesn't appear that the Colts can continue to risk letting him work through these struggles.
