When Andrew Luck abruptly announced his retirement on Saturday night, some of the initial fan reaction was anger and frustration. However, now with a few days to process it, I think most are on to the next stage: sadness.
It was hard to read through TY Hilton's post to his good friend and quarterback as he waved goodbye to Luck's playing career:
Nearly 7,000 of Hilton's 8,000+ receiving yards came from the arm of Luck, but the connection between the two was more special than statistics. In his retirement press conference, Luck called Hilton the "best football player he ever played with" and discussed their close bond. Hilton's emotion is evident in his tweet.
The two will always be linked, but I get the feeling there's still a lot more to come from Hilton before he hangs them up, regardless of who is throwing to him
