Query made fun of the ridiculous announced numbers at the NFL Draft in Nashville this past Spring, but there's no denying the event had a huge impact on tourism and dollars for the city. Watching from afar, it's obvious why Indianapolis - a great event city in its own right - would want to host it and the Indianapolis Business Journal is reporting that preliminary talks have already begun:
We know the NFL Combine will remain here at least through 2021, but after that, there's a lot of speculation that the NFL will put the event somewhere else, even if it's temporary. If that happens, you'd have to assume that the league would give Indy a crack at hosting the Draft (as a make-good, if you will) somewhere in the 2020s.
Regardless, I'd be thrilled to see the Draft here in our city!
