We've had a lot of good-promotional-ideas-gone-bad stories in the past couple of weeks - you may have seen the Ontario McDonald's that had to give away millions of free fries because of the Raptors' playoff win - but the latest from a bar in Miami takes the cake.
Among their drink promotions for the U.S. women's World Cup opener yesterday, the American Social Brickell in Miami offered free shots for every goal:
The Americans scored a record 13 (!) goals in a rout of Thailand, meaning that every patron received that many free shots. For me, it would only take half of that to get good and hammered, so I'm hoping not everyone took advantage of this.
Regardless, we hope the American Social Brickell can make it through Group Play still in business.
