Could the NFL go to an 18-game regular season? Tony Dungy isn't rooting for that.
The beloved former Colts coach and Hall of Famer said yesterday that he believes going from sixteen to eighteen would be a mistake:
Dungy gave player fatigue and injury as a reason for coming out against it and he makes a great point. Wouldn't the NFL look pretty hypocritical for trumpeting player safety and then turning around an tacking on two extra games?
For me, I would hate it mostly because the records would be all weird. We've been so used to 11-5 being a good season and 4-12 being a crappy one. 13-5 and 4-14 just sounds so... different. I'm also a big "if it's not broke, don't fix it" person, and isn't the NFL regular season great as it is and has been for decades?
