Jake and I don't want to take all the credit for Cole Tucker's terrific MLB debut. After all, he's the one who worked to become a first round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates out of high school, rocketed up their minor league system, earned a place with the Indianapolis Indians to start the season, and then a call-up to the bigs.
That said, we had to at least be a good luck charm... right?
Just a day after joining us in-person on the show at Victory Field on Friday, the 22-year old launched a 430+ foot home run in his MLB debut to lead the Bucs to a 3-1 rain-shortened win over the Giants. Take a look:
In all seriousness, we're thrilled for Cole. He's a terrific guy, who obviously is very talented, and it's so cool to see his friends/family there to enjoy that special moment. Let's hope it's the first of many for him in Pittsburgh.
