Embattled Indiana athletic director Fred Glass said he's still bullish on Archie Miller and pleased with the direction of IU's mediocre football program during a meeting with the Board of Trustees today.
Inside The Hall outlined some of the highlights:
It's not surprising that Glass would dig his heels in on Miller, seeing as how his future is directly linked to the second year coach's success or failure. After a decade of so-so results, it doesn't seem possible that Glass could afford to swing and miss on Archie.
"Major rebuild" is obviously a stretch. Was Indiana adversely affected by injuries this year and attrition of players from the program in Crean's final years into Miller's first two? Yes, but that doesn't excuse no-show performances at Northwestern and Rutger with a group of players that includes and all-league senior and a five-star freshman.
While Glass may not be in danger of losing his job this year, his seat is officially hot. If Miller can't turn things ariound quickly and Tom Allen churns out another Bowl-less season, then he won't be long in Bloomington.
