In the first few weeks of the season, all the talk was around whether or not Myles Turner should be benched for Domantas Sabonis. Now? Well, it seems fans are perfectly happy with Turner in the starting lineup.
Last night's monster 26-point, 12-rebound, 5-block effort against Washington was perhaps the highlight of Turner's season so far, and is the latest in a strong stretch for the fourth-year pro. In ten games without Victor Oladipo but with a healthy Turner in the lineup, the Pacers are 7-3. A big part of that is Turner's play:
13.7 points (53% FG), 9.0 rebounds, 3.6 blocks
While those numbers aren't all-world or anything, Turner's rebound numbers have made a big jump and his 53% shooting is also more efficient than his sub-50% career mark. Turner is also perhaps playing the best defense of his career, something that he mentioned focusing on last night:
This is a big week for the Pacers as they'll face Milwaukee (Central leader) and Philadelphia in back-to-back games - two teams they're currently trailing in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
