His NFL career didn't last long, but it appears his career in politics is just beginning.
Former Colts' first round draft pick Anthony Gonzalez was a winner last night and is heading to the U.S. House via Ohio's 16th Congressional District:
Gonzalez, a Republican in politics and a wide receiver in football, was limited to just 40 games over five NFL seasons (all with the Colts) after being selected in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He showed promise when healthy, catching 57 passes for 664 yards and four touchdowns in his lone full season in 2008, but hung them up after the 2011 season to retire at 27.
