Colts fans were surprised and upset last month when the popular John Simon was a victim of the team's final 53-man roster cuts. It took weeks for Simon to find a new home, but he's found one - with the rival New England Patriots:
The Patriots were long known for their 3-4 defense in the dynasty years of the early 2000s, which Simon would be a better fit in, however they seem to run multiple fronts nowadays. While he performed well in the Colts' 4-3 as a defensive end, Chris Ballard even admitted after the fact that he never felt like Simon was a great fit in that scheme.
I know everyone hates the Patriots here, but it's hard not to wish Simon well. He is a good guy and he plays hard, which is why Colts' fans grew to appreciate him in his short time here.
Simon joins Phillip Dorsett, Dwayne Allen, and Lawrence Guy as former Colts on the Patriots' current roster.
