"Interception! Marlin's got it! We're going to the Super Bowl!"
Bob Lamey uttered one of the most famous calls in Indianapolis sports history on that game-clinching play in the 2006 AFC Championship Game, part of his 31 seasons as the Voice of the Colts. Today, that 31-season run ends with his retirement:
While he's perhaps best known for his time with the Colts, Lamey originally earned the title "Hockey Bob" for his time as the play-by-play man of Indianapolis Racers hockey team in the 1970s. He was also part of the broadcasts of numerous Indianapolis 500s.
Sideline reporter Matt Taylor will take over on an interim basis.
