The Colts still don't have a #2 wide receiver, but that's not the reason why Reggie Wayne is coming back. Wayne, who hung up his cleats after the 2014 season, is returning to be a volunteer assistant wide receivers coach:
While his actual involvement may be minimal, it's great to have Reggie "back in the horseshoe", as Jim Irsay likes to say. The Colts have a very young and unproven stable of wideouts behind Pro Bowler TY Hilton with Chester Rogers, free agent signee Ryan Grant, and draft picks Daurice Fountain and Deon Cain. Hopefully, Wayne's experience can help them grow and develop.
