After months of speculation and years of intense focus, the recruitment of Romeo Langford will finally come to an end today. The New Albany star will make his decision tonight at New Albany High School, and choose between the in-state Hoosiers, Vanderbilt, and Kansas.
While it's gone back and forth between IU and Vanderbilt, this has always seemed like a two-horse race, with Kansas a distant third. Indiana has the advantage of being the home-state team, but Vanderbilt is a hot school under Bryce Drew, and secured the commitment of Langford's close friend and fellow bluechip Darius Garland a few months ago.
The addition of Langford would be a huge coup for Archie Miller in his first true recruiting cycle. Miller has already secured a four-player class, including in-state standouts Damezi Anderson and Robert Phinisee. A pledge from Romeo would certainly push Indiana among some of the nation's best freshman groups for next season.
