Who says there can't be drama for non-playoff teams in January?
The Colts' coaching search has certainly taken a dramatic turn. After weekend reports that Josh McDaniels, who has long thought to be the favorite for the Colts' vacancy, was part of Chris Ballard's final two candidates, the Titans job has opened up... and they want McDaniels, too!
Obviously, neither team can officially hire McDaniels until the Patriots' season is over, and that may not happen for another three weeks.
This ends up being a huge risk for Indianapolis, because if they lose out on McDaniels, they'll have to scramble for a replacement in early February - five full weeks after they parted ways with Chuck Pagano.
