The Colts' coaching rumor mill has included sexy names like Jon Gruden and Jim Harbaugh. Another name that's been mentioned often but isn't as flashy as those two is Kansas City's Dave Toub. However, the longtime Chiefs' Special Teams Coach is reportedly atop the Colts' wish list:
This would make sense given his connections to Chris Ballard. The two spent four seasons together with the Chiefs organization, both joining in 2013. Toub has been a Special Teams Coordinator for three different franchises since 2001, spending the last five seasons in K.C.
With a dozen or more NFL head coaching vacancies expected to open up, it's believed by most that Toub almost certainly will get a much-deserved bump in 2018. But, will it be with Indy? We'll keep an eye on it...
