If you were hoping for the Lakers to up their ante in the Paul George Sweepstakes, it looks like they've set a limit on how aggressive they'll be.
In the report in the Orange County Register, the new Lakers braintrust is absolutely refusing to include Brandon Ingram or Lonzo Ball in any deal for George:
With those two players off the table, the Lakers would have to recruit a third or fourth team to the table in order to give the Pacers what they want. But, we already knew that - their Julius Randle + 27th + 28th picks offer, that was on the table last week, was shot down by Kevin Pritchard, who is asking for higher-end picks.
Los Angeles appears comfortable in playing the waiting game, hoping to acquire George and/or a different member(s) of the talented 2018 free agency class.
