VIDEO - Mike Davis: "I wasn't ready"

Most current high schoolers weren't born yet when Mike Davis replaced Bob Knight in September of 2000, but it's a story that is still talked about today.

Davis became the full-time head coach in 2001-02, and the Hoosiers made a miracle run to the NCAA Championship game, but it was all downhill from there. IU missed the Tournament back-to-back years in 2004 and 2005, and Davis ultimately "resigned" under intense pressure in 2006.

He talked to Big Ten Network about some of  what he went through in Bloomington, and this particular quote stuck out:

Davis had mixed results in his next head coaching gig at UAB (2006-12), but has since turned tiny Texas Southern into a SWAC powerhouse. They've won the conference in three of his four seasons, and are primed to do so again (current leader).

The special will air on Sunday night.
