Last night, Los Angeles Lakers HC JJ Redick was asked during his pre-game media availability about his decision to make zero substitutions in the second half of Game 4 of their first round series with the Timberwolves and his response could only be described as combative. Doug Gottlieb, also a first-year rookie head basketball coach in his own right, thinks Redick’s defensive tone made him seem terribly condescending.
Doug Gottlieb: “JJ Redick comes across as crazy arrogant, very, very smart with his words, and a level of defensiveness which is really kind of attacking, trying to make you feel smaller or like you’re asking something stupid.”
