Catching Up With: Joey Elliott

Joey Elliott only started one year and never took an NFL snap, so he won't say he's in the famed Cradle of Quarterbacks. However, in that one season, he led Purdue to their only win at Michigan in 53 years and upset a top-ten Ohio State team.

The former Boilermaker signal-caller was the latest guest in our Catching Up With series this afternoon. Elliott looked back on a rocky transition from the end of the Joe Tiller era to the start of the ill-fated Danny Hope tenure, an up-and-down senior season, and his role now as a scout with the Indianapolis Colts.

Here's a rundown:

1:43 Dealing with instability during his time at Purdue

2:52 Reflecting on Danny Hope

5:41 The end of Joe Tiller’s tenure

8:10 The 2005 and 2009 teams underachieving

10:58 Beating both Ohio State and Michigan as a senior starter

14:04 His experience playing in the CFL

15:33 Scouting the CFL and non-major college football

18:34 His role with the Colts’ organization today

19:42 Hoping to someday be an NFL general manager

20:19 Family life away from football
