Reports have surfaced that New York Jets QB Zach Wilson will not be starting this weekend against the Chicago Bears, and Dan Patrick is in complete agreement with the move. This isn’t college, he’s not on scholarship, and the kid needs time to figure it out. It wouldn’t be the first time a ‘can’t miss’ prospect missed, and Wilson hasn’t been great so far. But there’s a long way to go and perhaps sitting him will be the kick in the pants he needs to get his act in gear.
Dan Patrick: “Don’t give me this, ‘Oh my God, if you bench him, you’re going to lose him!’ OK, maybe you do lose him, but maybe that’s because he’s not a starting quarterback right now in the NFL...sit him down, let him figure it out, let him realize what he has and what he could lose.”
