A horse in Henderson County, Kentucky, went rogue after bucking off its jockey at a racetrack over the weekend.

A 2-year-old filly named Bold and Bossy was supposed to make its debut at Ellis Park on Saturday (August 21) afternoon. Before the first race, Bold and Bossy threw jockey Miguel Mena of its back and bolted on the track.

"We have a loose horse on the track. She has unseated the rider and is loose," an Ellis Park announcer said during a YouTube livestream that captured the incident.

No one was able to catch Bold and Bossy before the filly left Ellis Park and ran on to Interstate 69.

Cullen Stanley was driving when he saw the horse head in his direction.

"I first saw something about three hundred yards down the road moving fast towards me that obviously wasn’t a vehicle. As it got closer it looked like a horse but my brain was telling me that it couldn’t be [a] horse because I’m on an interstate highway," Stanley told Fox News.

"When it was about 50 yards away there was no more denying that a racehorse was heading right toward my car. Luckily she dodged my car and kept on running. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen in real life or a dream."

A local sheriff and Good Samaritans were able to stop Bold and Bossy a few miles away at Waterworks and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway in Vanderburgh County, Indiana, WEHT reported.

Bold and Bossy was exhausted from the run, but a veterinarian was able to safely sedate the filly so it could be taken back to Ellis Park.

On Sunday around 4 a.m., the receiving barn at Ellis Park where Bold and Bossy was being held caught on fire. All seven horses inside of the barn were rescued, and Bold and Bossy was treated for minor burns, the Washington Post reported.
